Kids will learn some new recipes along with classic bread-making techniques, including proper techniques for measuring, proofing, mixing, kneading and baking, while preparing a variety of breads from around the world. Previous bread and baking classes are not a prerequisite. Participants will make and get to take home some of each of the following: Naan – Indian flatbread; Damper – a traditional Australian bush bread that was once cooked over in the hot coals of a campfire; Qistibi – a popular traditional baked flatbread from the Tatarstan and Bashkortostan areas of Russia with a mashed potato filling; Arepa – Griddlebread from Colombia/Venezuela; and Rieska – a Finnish flat bread.
