5/20 (Sun) – 1-3pm – Parent-Child Cuban Cuisine
Cuban cuisine is amazingly rich and flavorful, drawing flavors and influences from Indigenous cultures, Spain, Africa, France and Caribbean cultures and ingredients. Enjoy making some delicious Cuban classics: Guiso de Maiz (Cuban Corn Stew); Picadillo (Sweet and savory simmered ground meat with a sofrito (flavor-base/sauce) of onions, garlic and tomatoes, spices and raisins); Cuban-Style Flatbread; Cubano (Cuban Ham and Cheese Sandwich); and Torticas De Moron (Cuban Sugar Cookies with Guava). 6/3 (Sun) – 1-3pm – Parent-Child Beignets & Profiteroles
Make delicious French pastries with a special child! In this class, Adult-Child pairs will learn to make Pâte à Choux, the pastry dough used in many classic French pastries, as well as crème pâtissière, the thick French pastry cream used for filling pastries. Also Chocolate Ganache, delicious chocolate cream used for pastry fillings and truffles, too. Pairs will then learn how to put all of these recipes together to make Profiteroles (or choux à la crème). Pairs will also make Beignets, classic French-style doughnuts from New Orleans. On the menu: Classic Beignets with Powdered Sugar; Pâte à Choux; Crème Pâtissière; and Chocolate Ganache. Location: St. Mark’s. Class Cost: $75 per parent-child pair (each additional child is $35).
6/24 (Sun) – 1-3pm – Parent-Child Summer Rolls
Summer rolls are delicious and nutritious. Fresh, not fried; filled with fragrant fresh herbs, rice vermicelli and protein; then wrapped in rice paper and served with dipping sauces, summer rolls are fun to make and great to eat. Adult-child pairs will learn techniques to make a variety of Summer Rolls including Classic Vietnamese Vegetarian Summer Rolls; Korean BBQ Beef Summer Rolls; Shredded Pork Summer Rolls; and Chicken and Broccoli Summer Rolls, as well as Mirin Soy Sauce and Nuac Cham Dipping Sauce. Location: St. Mark’s. Class Cost: $75 per parent-child pair (each additional child is $35).
7/15 (Sun) – 1-3pm – Parent-Child Summer Candy Class
Spend a Sunday afternoon with a special child making some sweet treats! Adult-Child pairs will get to make these yummy treats to taste and will also get to take some home to share (or not!): Chocolate Caramel Corn; Pastel Summer Mints; Marvelous Maple Fudge; White Chocolate and Coconut Bonbons; and Homemade Tootsie Rolls. Location: St. Mark’s. Class Cost: $75 per parent-child pair (each additional child is $35).
8/12 (Sun) – 1-3pm – Parent-Child French Bistro
These French Bistro recipes are delicious and easy to prepare, much like the home-style cooking served in most French bistros. On the menu: Soupe à l’Oignon Gratinée (French Onion Soup Gratinée); Parmesan Cream Crackers; Bifteck Haché (French “Butterburgers”) with Roasted Garlic and Thyme; and Tarte Tatin. Location: St. Mark’s. Class Cost: $75 per parent-child pair (each additional child is $35).
Parent-child classes are for children ages 6 and up and any adult helper (18+). If you have any questions about Parent-child classes, please contact Chef Joel.

Parent-Child classes are $75 per parent-child pair, and each additional child is $35. Costs include recipe packets to take home and all foods, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the recipes.
