COOKING CLASSES IN MADISON
Chef Joel Olson of Hemmachef offers cooking classes in Madison, Wisconsin, and is also available to teach throughout Wisconsin. Chef Joel offers private classes and special culinary events and can make your corporate or private event a delicious and memorable one!
Chef Joel is adept at working with students of all ages and abilities, from children to adults, and making sure that everyone has a fun culinary experience while learning useful skills. His students have ranged from 6 year-olds to senior citizens, and many classes have included a wide age range of students. Chef Joel provides participants with safe, well-organized, fun-filled instruction, and strives to maintain a courteous, fair kitchen environment.

No packets of skinny noodles and pouches of MSG in this class! Kids will learn to make noodle dough from scratch, then roll, stretch and cut the dough into fresh noodles to be boiled and enjoyed with a variety of classic ramen ingredients. Participants will also learn to make the traditional wonderful slow-cooked broth, luscious roast pork and eggs cooked to perfection to complete a delicious bowl of ramen noodles. Sign up now for this highly popular and effective etiquette course and let Chef Joel teach them the how’s and why’s of good etiquette. Kids will help to prepare a three-course meal, including a bread and butter plate, while discussing the concepts and rules of manners and etiquette. Then they learn how to properly serve food, and will get to sit and enjoy the rewards of their labors while their dining etiquette is critiqued by Chef Joel in a fun and productive manner. On the menu: Fresh Bread with Butter; Classic Vegetable Soup with Fried Mozzarella Toasts; Mixed Greens Salad with Classic Vinaigrette; Chicken and Pasta with Tomato Basil Cream; Caramel Mousse with Apples and Scandinavian Sugar Cookies. Empower your child to help with the cooking by learning real knife skills/techniques that will stay with them for as long as they cook! Children are great at chopping, dicing and mincing when they learn the proper techniques and safety guidelines. Kids will practice cutting a variety of fruits, vegetables, and bread. They will learn special techniques for cutting onions, carrots, peppers and other vegetables, as well as learning how to paste garlic, mince parsley, and make chiffonade of lettuce.
